2024 SEC football schedule: Full list of dates, opponents revealed

The SEC is going to look much different when the 2024 football season kicks off. Two new teams will be part of the conference, which will no longer have divisions and will be in the first year of a new media deal with ESPN and ABC.

Prior to this season, the SEC announced its plans for an eight-game football schedule. There was discussion about moving to a nine-game model, but the league ultimately decided to stick with eight for at least the 2024 season as Texas and Oklahoma join the fray.

The league announced each team’s opponents in June. Now, those matchups have dates, as announced during an ESPN special Wednesday night to reveal the 2024 SEC football schedule.

Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama now knows its schedule as the Tide try to defend their SEC title after defeating Georgia in the conference championship to get back to the College Football Playoff. The Crimson Tide rattled off nine straight wins to end the season before handing the Bulldogs their first loss in more than 700 days to seal a spot in the Rose Bowl.

The 2024 season is a big one for Sam Pittman, who found himself on the hot seat at Arkansas this year before ultimately keeping his job. He made a huge hire, as well, by bringing Bobby Petrino back to Fayetteville as offensive coordinator to try and jumpstart a unit that stalled in 2023.
