2024 shooting guards to keep an eye on
On3 will spend this week going by position to take a look at the 2024 class. Today we look at the 2024 shooting guards. We updated the 2022 class rankings, and On3 is in the process of updating its 2021 class rankings, but what about the class of 2024?
Three to watch
6-5 Ian Jackson
There is an alpha factor with Jackson. The 6-foot-5 sophomore at Bronx (NY) Cardinal Hayes has deep range and a quick first step. Jackson has feel in the paint with the explosion to rise up in traffic or pull up for a floater or a mid-range jumper. Jackson should track as one of the top overall players in the class.
Claimed offers: UConn, Oklahoma State, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Kansas State, etc.
6-5 Cam Scott
Scott looks the part with his 6-foot-5, long-armed, and explosive frame. He plays an efficient game, capable of taking over a game while taking limited shots. The Lexington (SC) High sophomore has good footwork and a tight handle in the half-court that gets him to his spots. He finished his sophomore season all-state, for the second time, and conference player of the year.
Claimed offers: South Carolina, Clemson, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Georgia, Texas Tech, Florida State, Ole Miss, etc.
6-6 Bryson Tucker
Tucker has an advanced approach to the game. He has good positional size and is comfortable on the ball. At 6-foot-6 Tucker makes great reads as a slashing off-guard, playing balanced, with his head up. The Baltimore (MD) Mount Saint Joseph’s sophomore’s dad played collegiately at NC State and then George Mason.

The wildcard
6-7 Trentyn Flowers
Over the last eight months, Flowers burst on the scene, first playing with Huntington (WV) Prep, then transferring to Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon at the beginning of January. The 2024 shooting guard has explosion, positional size, and a lot of tools. What makes him a wildcard is that he grew four-plus inches over the last 12 months. While he is still a flashes guy right now, as he continues to fill out his frame and develop his spots on the floor, there is a world of upside here.
Claimed offers: Michigan, Southern Cal, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Illinois, Kansas, Memphis, Georgetown, Cincinnati, Xavier, Alabama, etc.
