2025 4-star CB Kevyn Humes reclassifies to 2024
Just over a month ago, Kevyn Humes announced his top five schools were Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon and Penn State. At that time, the four-star cornerback out of Baltimore St. Frances Academy was wrapping up his junior season.
The No. 331 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings is now ready to accelerate his recruiting process up a year and reclassify from 2025 to 2024.
“Me and my family and coaches have been talking about this since the beginning of the year,” Humes told On3. “I got serious about it after our last game against IMG Academy and I made the final decision to reclassify about two weeks ago.”
Humes will be ready to graduate and enroll in college next spring. Instead of signing next December, he now will sign with a school in February. He has already locked in two official visits for January.
“I will be at Syracuse on Jan. 12 and Penn State on Jan. 19. I have never visited Syracuse, but Coach Fran Brown has been recruiting me since he was at Rutgers. We have built a good relationship. Penn State is a school I have visited three times and my relationship with Coach Terry Smith has skyrocketed this season. I am very familiar with Penn State.”

Syracuse is a new school on his list. Humes has had an interest in Penn State for some time. The other schools on his Top Five list are still in play too. He is waiting to see where their numbers are after December signings and moves in the Transfer Portal this cycle.
Humes, now a senior, will have a new approach in January and be ready come Signing Day in February.
“Things will change some with the schools and me reclassifying, but I am still looking for the same things when I make my decision,” Humes added. “Schools are being straightforward with me and I will see what schools I visit before I make my decision.
“It is still about the living environment for me. I want to enjoy waking up there and going to school there. Then it is about the scheme and how fit into it. Those two things will help me make my decision.
“My family and coaches believe in me, they pushed me and I competed this season against tough competition this season. I am ready to go.”
Maryland is another new school that has become a contender.
