Orange (Calif.) Lutheran 2025 four-star quarterback TJ Lateef is down to seven schools, he told On3 on Saturday.

Colorado, Arizona, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida State and Auburn are all finalists for Lateef. Consistent communication is what Lateef sets these schools apart from the rest, and he plans to commit sometime this spring.

“Just consistently contacting me,” Lateef said. “I can go down the line with each school. Colorado being there since like, from the start. Florida State being an early offer for me, too, you know what I’m saying — being on this journey with me. And then Auburn, I really like Auburn and what they’re doing, their recruiting class. I feel like Hugh Freeze has something going on underneath his sleeve and I just want to be a part of that.”

Thus far, Arizona is the only school on Lateef’s list that he has visited. However, he hopes to get out to Auburn “as soon as possible.”

“Well you’ve got to remember the dead period, so it’s all starting back up again,” Lateef said about his recruitment. “As of right now it’s been slow-motion, but really trying to get out to Auburn.”

Going forward, Lateef said that the key factor in his decision will be “building a good relationship with the head coach.”

Lateef is a four-star prospect ranked No. 228 in the in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the nation’s No. 17 quarterback and No. 21 recruit from California.
