2025 Big 12 Basketball Tournament Projection: Bracket, schedule for field if season ended today - Feb. 27th

With three games left in the regular season, the latest projections have been updated for what the bracket would look like in the 2025 Big 12 Tournament. With their win in Lubbock on Monday, Houston, with a three-game lead now, has clinched at least a share of the regular-season title in the Big 12 and will be the No. 1 seed in Kansas City.
From there, though, much of the seeding is still to be determined, especially with eight or nine currently projecting also to be in the NCAA Tournament. Arizona, Texas Tech, and BYU currently have the remaining double-byes in the bracket for Friday. Iowa State is still in play too with home games remaining against both the Wildcats and Cougars in Ames. Kansas, TCU, and Baylor are then among the likeliest to receive at least a bye for Thursday with West Virginia also in contention for one of those spots as well.

As for this weekend’s games in the conference, BYU vs. West Virginia is by far the biggest as it directly impacts both the races for the final double-bye and bye. Arizona vs. Iowa State is obviously also important as a matchup between two current top-five seeds along with Baylor vs. Oklahoma State and TCU vs. UCF, which could cost byes for the Bears and Horned Frogs.
With that, here’s what the Big 12 Tournament would look like per the data at PlayoffStatus.com:
Round 1 (Tuesday – March 11th)
These eight teams are the ones who would need to play well, if not win it all, in KC to be part of March Madness. Eight teams in the league are tied within two games of one another with losing records at 8-9 and 6-11. Still, among them, Utah, Kansas State, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State, and UCF are much likelier to start in the first round without as much control of their seeding. Arizona State and Colorado have then set themselves into the final two seeds in the bracket.
