Anding previously told On3 that he did not grow up watching LSU football, but that the Tigers’ this summer forced him to take a different look at the in-state team.
“Really, it’s the in-state school, but me, I wasn’t much of a football player (growing up),” Anding told On3. “I was a basketball player, but I didn’t really watch basketball that much. I had nothing in my mind about football. But, after hearing (about LSU) and seeing stuff about it, it’s a good program, for one, and it’s the in-state school with a lot of fans and love shown to that program.”
Anding also had high praise for Texas.
“The people,” Anding told Inside Texas. “When went on my visit, I liked how coach (Terry) Joseph really cares about Louisiana guys. Some of the corners I met are from Louisiana. How they feel coming from here, going to a new environment at Texas, playing for a big-time program, that’s major. Easier for me to relate to them.”
