2025 CB Kaylib Singleton decommits from Rutgers

Fleming Island (Fla.) Oakleaf three-star cornerback Kaylib Singleton has decommitted from Rutgers, he announced on Sunday evening.

He was pledged to the Scarlet Knights since June 16, but is now back on the board after taking a visit to Florida over the weekend.

Singleton is the No. 716 overall prospect and No. 71 CB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 92 player in Florida.

“I’m truly thankful for the hospitality Rutgers have shown me since my commitment, and I appreciate the coaching staff for giving me an opportunity to play for their school. I am decommitting and I’ve
decided to re-open my recruitment,” Singleton wrote announcing his decision on X.

The in-state Gators will be a team to watch for the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder moving forward. Singleton also owns offers from the likes of Syracuse, Michigan, LSU, Texas A&M and Kentucky.

Scarlet Knights lose piece to 2025 recruiting class

With Singleton no longer in the mix, Rutgers’ 2025 class now features 27 commitments. The class still ranks No. 26 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

A quartet of blue-chippers headline the class for head coach Greg Schiano and Co: Upper Marlboro (Md.) St. John’s four-star safety Tariq Hayer, Trenton (N.J.) Hun School four-star linebacker Kamar Archie, Jersey City (N.J.) Henry Snyder four-star linebacker DJ McClary and Warner Robins (Ga.) Northside four-star cornerback Michael Clayton.

Of the 27 commits, 15 hail from New Jersey, New York or Maryland. Schiano and his staff have prioritized local recruiting and its paid off, as the class also ranks No. 9 in the Big Ten and is on pace for one of its best group of signees in the modern recruiting era.

Other top pledges in the class include: Barnegat (N.J.) Donovan Catholic three-star wide receiver Michael Thomas, Muskegon (Mich.) three-star offensive tackle N’Kye Wynn, Middle Village (N.Y.) St. Thomas More three-star WR Jourdin Houston, Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph Regional three-star running back John Forster and Toms River (N.J.) North three-star OT Jaelyne Matthews.
