2025 DL Drayden Pavey decommits from Purdue
Cincinnati Robert A Taft three-star defensive lineman Drayden Pavey has decommitted from Purdue, he announced on Saturday.
He was pledged to the Boilermakers since July 2, when he chose them over Wisconsin and Indiana.
Pavey is the No. 695 overall prospect and No. 67 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
“I would like to thank the entire Purdue family that includes coaches, staff, current players alumni and anyone who was involved in my recruitment process to West Lafayette. Purdue is the first-class organization, I graciously enjoyed my journey. I come to my platform with a heavy heart, after several thoughtful conversations with my family; we have determined I will be flipping my Commitment from Purdue,” Pavey wrote on X, announcing his decision.
“I also especially wanna thank Coach Hailey, Coach Preston and Coach OB you guys have been great in this whole experience. To the player that fills my shoes you are in good hands. I am officially reopening my recruitment. Thank you and respect my decision.”
On Friday, On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons each logged picks in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine in favor of Wisconsin flipping Pavey from the Boilermakers. Luke Fickell’s program will be one to watch now that the 6-foot-3, 305-pounder is back on the board.

Purdue loses another 2025 commitment
It’s another decommitment for head coach Ryan Walters and the Purdue staff. Amidst a treacherous season, the Boilermakers now have just 10 commits in their 2025 class, which now ranks No. 77 in the nation and dead last in the Big Ten, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Four-star cornerback Dawayne Galloway, four-star offensive tackle Takhyian Whitset and three-star wide receiver Lebron Hill are among those who have also backed off their pledges since the end of September. Junior four-star quarterback Oscar Rios also recently decommitted.
West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West three-star linebacker Grant Beerman is the top-ranked commit in the 2025 class, checking in as the No. 440 recruit in the nation. Other top recruits still in the mix for the Boilers include three-star tight end Brian Kortovich, three-star interior offensive lineman Cameron Gorin and three-star quarterback Sawyer Anderson.
