Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North 2025 defensive lineman Ka’Mori Moore has decommitted from Oklahoma, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Moore had been committed to the Sooners since July 2023, when he chose them over Nebraska, Iowa State and others.

The 6-foot, 300-pounder took an unofficial visit to Norman this spring and returned the summer for his official visit, but will now look for a new future home.

He is the No. 774 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Moore ranks as the nation’s No. 74 defensive lineman and No. 10 recruit in Missouri.

The defection drops the Sooners to 21 total commits in the cycle and just two defensive linemen: EDGE Alexander Shieldnight and interior defender Trent Wilson. The Sooners also three-star Miami (Fla.) Central defensive lineman Floyd Boucard on Sept. 16 after he announced his decommitment.

OU’s class still stands as one of the best pound-for-pound groups in the country, ranking No. 11 in the updated On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The group includes 13 blue-chippers (1 five-star and 12 four-stars). They hold pledges from six of the top 13 recruits in their own state, but have also dipped into California, Florida, Maryland, Utah and heavily in Texas.

More on Sooners’ recruiting

Losing one of three defensive line commits no doubt hurts for Brent Venables and Co., but the Sooners have already filled some major gaps in the class and have until December to target another D-lineman.

Co-offensive coordinator Seth Littrell locked in his quarterback early with four-star Kevin Sperry out of the Oklahoma City area. His pledge has helped spur on a string of receiver commitments, led by in-state four-star Elijah Thomas and Texas-based three-star Gracen Harris.

Coveted offensive tackle Ryan Fodje jumped on board in February and has been a huge rankings riser since, checking in at No. 52 nationally in the On300.

The Sooners added another key piece to the puzzle on March 29 with the addition of four-star running back Tory Blaylock.

On the defensive side, the Sooners nabbed three early commitments from linebacker Marcus James and Shieldnight.  They’ve added to that in a big way in April, landing commitments from four-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson, three-star cornerback Maliek Hawkins, and four-star safety Marcus Wimberly.

A month later, they added to their haul yet again with Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert four-star defensive back Trystan Haynes.

June saw the additions of four-star athlete CJ Nickson and offensive lineman Darius Afalava, and four-star wide receivers Emmanuel Choice and Marcus Harris also put their names on the commit list. And July kicked off with a major bang as the Sooners beat out Florida, LSU and more for four-star wideout Cortez Mills.

Shortly after Mills’ commitment, the Sooners added a pledge from four-star safety Omarion Robinson, who chose OU over Oregon and Arkansas. Their biggest commitment to date came in August though, as they beat out Texas and Texas A&M for five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi.
