2025 DL Stephon Shivers decommits from Georgia
Humboldt (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers has decommitted from Georgia, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Shivers previously reopened his recruitment last month but had not fully decommitted from the Bulldogs.
He had been pledged to UGA since March 22, when he chose them over the likes of Auburn, Ole Miss, Oregon and Tennessee.
Now he’s back on the open market with multiple teams in pursuit. Shivers told DawgsHQ’s Jeremy Johnson that he is hearing from Florida, Alabama, Texas, Vanderbilt, and USC the most.
And GatorsOnline.com’s Corey Bender reported that Shivers is working on an official visit to Gainesville November 16.
The 6-foot-4.5, 380-pounder is the No. 444 overall prospect and No. 40 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 14 player in Tennessee.

Bulldogs still looking to bolster their defensive line class
Shivers was one of five commitments along the defensive line for Kirby Smart and Co., flanked by Five-Star Plus+ DL Elijah Griffin, five-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson, four-star EDGE Darren Ikinnagbon and three-star interior lineman Jayden-Jamal Hanne.
Now down to four, Georgia is still looking for a couple more targets to add to their class. The Bulldogs have been in heavy pursuit of former Rutgers commit and On300 EDGE Chase Linton, who is set to announce on November 20 with UGA as the heavy favorite to land him.
Five-Star Plus+ defensive lineman Justus Terry is also still on the board and expected to announce his decision during the Early Signing Period. Terry has been considered a strong lean to the Bulldogs since he decommitted from USC this summer.
Other names to watch include Florida commit Jeramiah McCloud and Florida State pledge Kevin Wynn.
