Geismar (La.) Dutchtown three-star EDGE Joshua Lewis has decommitted from Missouri, he announced on Sunday evening.

The 6-foot-4.5, 245-pounder was pledged to the Tigers since April 22.

Lewis is the No. 639 overall prospect and No. 59 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 25 player in Louisiana.

“Due to unfortunate circumstances I am no longer committed to the University Of Missouri. Recruitment is back open,” Lewis wrote, announcing his decision on X.

Lewis originally joined Mizzou’s class during a swing of recruiting wins for Eli Drinkwitz and Co. His decommitment now leaves the Tigers with 16 commits in the 2025 class.

While the 2024 season hasn’t gone totally to plan for the Tigers, they’re still looking to hold onto a recruiting class that currently ranks No. 17 in the nation and No. 9 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The pledge list is still headlined by a pair of five-stars in Mesquite (Texas) Horn five-star offensive tackle Lamont Rogers and Royersford (Pa.) Spring-Ford five-star quarterback Matt Zollers. Rogers is the nation’s No. 29 recruit and No. 5 OT, while Zollers checks in as the No. 31 recruit and No. 5 QB.

“My commitment to Missouri is strong of my relationship with all the coaches there,” Zollers told On3 after taking a Penn State visit this weekend. “It is especially strong with coach Drink (Eli Drinkwitz) and coach Moore. Those just very very good and I feel very comfortable there.”

The class is bolstered by eight additional blue-chip prospects, including Naperville (Ill.) IMG Academy four-star wide receiver Donovan Olugbode, Eureka (Mo.) four-star interior offensive lineman Jack Lange, Hermann (Mo.) four-star EDGE Daeden Hopkins, Germantown (Tenn.) Melrose four-star running back Jamarion Morrow and Canton (Ohio) McKinley four-star linebacker Dante McClellan.
