Belleville (Mich.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood will be in Boulder on Saturday, watching the rising Colorado Buffaloes take on Colorado State in what’s expected to be another electric atmosphere at Folsom Field.

As the top-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle — per the On3 Industry Ranking — continues to weigh his options throughout his high-profile recruitment, he’s also proving his worth on the gridiron. Underwood delivered another lights-out showing on Friday night.

In a 53-0 beatdown, Underwood completed all 15 of his pass attempts, throwing for over 250 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for a score as Belleville remained undefeated with ease.

Underwood “a real target” for the Buffaloes

Underwood’s trip to Colorado was originally booked for later in the month, but he instead opted to move it up to this weekend. According to On3’s Josh Newberg, this isn’t a meaningless trip, either.

“The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback has been keeping a close eye on Coach Prime and the Buffaloes. After that win against TCU, he set that visit for Sept. 30. But now, he’ll be in even earlier than that,” Newberg said. “(Underwood) is now a real target to come to Colorado. They’re getting him on campus at a great time, because this is a pivotal point in his recruitment … Deion and Colorado have emerged as a real threat.”

The in-state Michigan Wolverines have had the most buzz with Underwood, as their recruitment has included a total of 10 visits to Ann Arbor and is expected to add another trip at some point during the season. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Jim Harbaugh’s team currently has a 40.7% chance to land his pledge.

LSU has also been in the mix as QBs coach Joe Sloan continues to make Underwood a top priority for the Tigers. He was in Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit in July and has made multiple trips down to the Bayou.

Colorado could be jamming itself in the thick of things at the perfect time, however. Underwood has set a Jan. 6 commitment date, meaning the time to make a move is now. No program is garnering more attention than the Buffaloes, making Boulder a more increasing landing spot by the day.

“It’s pivotal because Underwood is set to make his commitment on Jan. 6, so even though he’s a 2025 prospect, we’re only about four months from his decision,” Newberg said. “Visits like these can make a huge impact.”
