2025 in-state breakdown: Nasir Wyatt, Phillip Bell headline top California prospects

Year in and year out California has some of the top high school football players in the country and the same can be said for the Class of 2025. On3 released its 2025 On300 on Monday and the state had 29 players make the list.

Of the 29 players from California that made it, 19 were ranked as four-star prospects.

Here’s a look at those 19 and an early glance at where their recruitment stands.

LB Nasir Wyatt

School: Mater Dei
On3 Ranking: No. 20
On3 RPM: USC 60.9%

The Skinny: Nasir Wyatt‘s visited USC six times, more than any other school with the latest visit coming on March 18. During the latest visit Wyatt was able to meet with the Trojans’ coaches where he talked with them about how he fits into the future of the program.

WR Phillip Bell

School: Bishop Alemany
On3 Ranking: No. 29
On3 RPM: USC 28.5%

The Skinny: Like Wyatt, Phillip Bell has visited USC more than any other school and the RPM favors him heading to Southern Cal. However, he picked up an offer from Ohio State, a school he called his ‘dream school’, on March 20 during a visit.

TE Davon Mitchell

School: Los Alamitos

The Skinny: Davon Mitchell announced his list of top 11 schools on Feb. 24 but one school has pulled well ahead of the others in his recruitment. Mitchell’s visited Oklahoma five times already and told On3’s Chad Simmons that the Sooner were No. 1 on his chart.

CB Dijon Lee

School: Mission Viejo
On3 Ranking: No. 33
On3 RPM: USC 69.8%

The Skinny: Dijon Lee grew up a UCLA fan but it’s the Trojans who have gained a substantial lead in his recruitment. Last summer was the last time Lee visited USC but he’s set to return to campus on April 1.

RB Jordon Davison

The Skinny: Texas seems to have gained some traction in Jordon Davison‘s recruitment following a visit to campus in January but USC still figures to be the team to beat. Davison has visited Southern Cal five times five times and holds more than 45 offers already.

The Skinny: Akili Smith Jr. is the son of former Oregon Ducks and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Akili Smith. Smith told ScoopDuck he has been hearing the most from Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Fresno State, California, Arizona and San Diego State.
