2025 in-state breakdown: Nasir Wyatt, Phillip Bell headline top California prospects

Year in and year out California has some of the top high school football players in the country and the same can be said for the Class of 2025. On3 released its 2025 On300 on Monday and the state had 29 players make the list.

Of the 29 players from California that made it, 19 were ranked as four-star prospects.

Here’s a look at those 19 and an early glance at where their recruitment stands.

LB Nasir Wyatt

School: Mater Dei
On3 Ranking: No. 20
On3 RPM: USC 60.9%
On3 NIL Valuation: $72K
The Skinny: Nasir Wyatt‘s visited USC six times, more than any other school with the latest visit coming on March 18. During the latest visit Wyatt was able to meet with the Trojans’ coaches where he talked with them about how he fits into the future of the program.

WR Phillip Bell

School: Bishop Alemany
On3 Ranking: No. 29
On3 RPM: USC 28.5%
On3 NIL Valuation: $97K
The Skinny: Like Wyatt, Phillip Bell has visited USC more than any other school and the RPM favors him heading to Southern Cal. However, he picked up an offer from Ohio State, a school he called his ‘dream school’, on March 20 during a visit.

TE Davon Mitchell

School: Los Alamitos
On3 Ranking: No. 31
On3 RPM: Oklahoma 89.4%
On3 NIL Valuation: $74K
The Skinny: Davon Mitchell announced his list of top 11 schools on Feb. 24 but one school has pulled well ahead of the others in his recruitment. Mitchell’s visited Oklahoma five times already and told On3’s Chad Simmons that the Sooner were No. 1 on his chart.

CB Dijon Lee

School: Mission Viejo
On3 Ranking: No. 33
On3 RPM: USC 69.8%
On3 NIL Valuation: $61K
The Skinny: Dijon Lee grew up a UCLA fan but it’s the Trojans who have gained a substantial lead in his recruitment. Last summer was the last time Lee visited USC but he’s set to return to campus on April 1.

RB Jordon Davison

School: Mater Dei
On3 Ranking: No. 38
On3 RPM: USC 80.4%
On3 NIL Valuation: $85K
The Skinny: Texas seems to have gained some traction in Jordon Davison‘s recruitment following a visit to campus in January but USC still figures to be the team to beat. Davison has visited Southern Cal five times five times and holds more than 45 offers already.

QB Akili Smith Jr.

School: Vista Murrieta
On3 Ranking: No. 39
On3 RPM: Arizona 83%
On3 NIL Valuation: $150K
The Skinny: Akili Smith Jr. is the son of former Oregon Ducks and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Akili Smith. Smith told ScoopDuck he has been hearing the most from Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Fresno State, California, Arizona and San Diego State.

WR Marcus Harris

School: Mater Dei
On3 Ranking: No. 40
On3 RPM: Texas 32.2%, Oregon 14.8%, Colorado 12.7%, Washington 10.6%, Georgia 10.6%, Pittsburgh 10.6%
On3 NIL Valuation: $89K
The Skinny: Marcus Harris has taken visits to several of the nation’s top schools since his recruitment began to rise last year. This year alone he’s visited Washington (Jan. 21), Colorado (Jan. 27), LSU (March 10) and USC (March 25).

LB Noah Mikhail

School: Bonita
On3 Ranking: No. 43
On3 RPM: USC 23.8%, Texas A&M 20.8%
On3 NIL Valuation: $59K
The Skinny: Noah Mikhail‘s visited Texas A&M and USC the most out of any school and visited both in March. He was on campus at Texas A&M for the second time on March 3 and visited Southern Cal for the third time on March 18.

S Jadyn Hudson

School: Pittsburg
On3 Ranking: No. 48
On3 RPM: USC 21.2%, Oklahoma 18.5%, Michigan 15.9%, Georgia 13.2%, Penn State 13.2%
On3 NIL Valuation: $73K
The Skinny: USC extended an offer to Jadyn Hudson on Jan. 20 and he took his first visit to campus on March 4 and told WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader that he was planning a return visit for sometime in the spring.

EDGE Jared Martin

School: Central
On3 Ranking: No. 76
On3 RPM: San Diego State 19.5%, Arizona State 17.1%, Arizona 14.6%, California 12.2%, Colorado State 12.2%, Oregon State 12.2%, Penn State 12.2%
On3 NIL Valuation: $12K
The Skinny: Jared Martin spent his winter on the basketball court but has seen his list of new offers continually rise. He picked up his first Division I offer from Colorado State on Jan. 18 and has received 10 more since.

TE AJ Ia

School: Orange Lutheran
On3 Ranking: No. 82
On3 RPM: N/A
On3 NIL Valuation: $29K
The Skinny: AJ Ia is a name on the rise who visited USC on March 5. He currently holds offers from Arizona State, California, San Diego State, Tennessee and Washington.

QB Bear Bachmeier

School: Murrieta Valley
On3 Ranking: No. 84
On3 RPM: Boise State 38.1%, Oregon State 33.3%, Michigan 28.6%
On3 NIL Valuation: $89K
The Skinny: Boise State was the first school to extend an offer to Bear Bachmeier before his freshman year. Now Bachmeier’s list of offers include Michigan, Oregon State, Stanford and Utah amongst others.

LB Madden Faraimo

School: J Serra Catholic
On3 Ranking: No. 86
On3 RPM: San Diego State 17.4%, USC 15.2%, Arizona 13%, California 10.9%, Colorado 10.9%, Washington 10.9%, Penn State 10.9%
On3 NIL Valuation: $46K
The Skinny: Madden Faraimo‘s list of offers is up to 16 and will continue to grow throughout his junior and senior seasons. A few standout offers include Colorado, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State and USC.

WR Chris Lawson

School: Foothill
On3 Ranking: No. 88
On3 RPM: Oregon 25.8%, Washington 22.6%, Arizona 19.4%, Colorado 16.1%, Colorado State 16.1%
On3 NIL Valuation: $34K
The Skinny: Arizona was the first school to extend an offer to Chris Lawson in October 2021. He’s picked up 11 more offers since then including Colorado, Oregon and Washington.

DL Matthew Johnson

School: De La Salle
On3 Ranking: No. 95
On3 RPM: Ole Miss 53.3%, UMass 46.7%
On3 NIL Valuation: N/A
The Skinny: Matthew Johnson is a name to keep an eye on. His only two offers currently are from Ole Miss and UMass but he’s on the radar of several top programs.

LB Marco Jones

School: San Ramon Valley
On3 Ranking: No. 111
On3 RPM: Arizona 79.3%
On3 NIL Valuation: $35K
The Skinny: Marco Jones played his first season of varsity football last year and immediately starting hauling in offers. He’s up to seven now with a few standouts like Notre Dame, Oklahoma and USC.

CB Jett White

School: Los Alamitos
On3 Ranking: No. 160
On3 RPM: USC 37.4%, Penn State 19.9%
On3 NIL Valuation: $58K
The Skinny: USC remains the favorite to land a commitment from Jett White but he’s had a busy spring visiting several other schools. In March he visited Penn State (March 18), Ohio State (March 20), Texas A&M (March 24), Texas (March 25) and TCU (March 26).

ATH Antonio Walton

School: Cathedral
On3 Ranking: No. 195
On3 RPM: Utah 100%
On3 NIL Valuation: $12.6K
The Skinny: A speedster on the track and football field, Antonio Walton is one of the fastest players in California. He currently holds offers from Arizona, California, UNLV, Utah and Washington State.

TE Kaleb Edwards

School: Oak Ridge
On3 Ranking: No. 198
On3 RPM: Nevada 100%
On3 NIL Valuation: $11.7K
The Skinny: Nevada was the first school to an extend an offer to Kaleb Edwards last June. He currently sits with four offers including Oregon State and Washington, both of which he picked up on Jan. 25.
