2025 IOL Daniel Pierre Louis flips commitment from Florida State to Florida
Loxahatchee (Fla.) Seminole Ridge three-star interior offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis has flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
He had been committed to FSU since Oct. 15, when he chose the Seminoles over Florida and NC State.
But earlier this month, Florida State fired offensive coordinator/line coach Alex Atkins. Atkins played a key role in landing Pierre Louis, who raved to Warchant about his relationship with Atkins following an official visit to Tallahassee.
Pierre Louis then visited Florida for the Gators’ upset win over LSU before flipping his pledge.
Spearheading UF’s pursuit was co-offensive line coach Jonathan Decoster, who attended one of his games earlier in the fall and offered shortly thereafter.
“He’s Haitian and I’m Haitian, so we connect really well,” Pierre Louis told GatorsOnline last month. “We have a bond where he gives me great feedback and tells me where to improve and also shows me little tips and tricks to keep elevating my game. He shows me development of other players like me that they brought into their program.

… Overall, the vibes are really good. He’s been showing me what their plans for development are, like, how they go into each week and their grade-out sheets. It’s been really nice.”
The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder is the No. 949 overall prospect and No. 77 offensive lineman in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3, however, is much higher on him than other services. In the recently updated player rankings, he was tabbed as the nation’s No. 52 offensive lineman and No. 89 prospect in Florida.
This is a developing story.
