Uneventful day of practice wrapping up

01/09/2025 01:47:21 PM

After plenty of walk-through action and not much on the 11-on-11 side of things, both teams have wrapped up day three of practice at the Alamodome.

11-on-11 action now underway

01/09/2025 01:25:42 PM

“Texas A&M OT signee Lamont Rogers has struggled with false starts. A few nice run blocks by Alabama TE signee Kaleb Edwards while pulling. Georgia WR signee Talyn Taylor showing some juice on an end around.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

“Good vision by SMU RB signee Dramecko Green, picking his way through the line. 2026 WR/RB Davian Groce takes the end-around. Pressure from Oregon EDGE signee Tobi Haastrup and Miami EDGE signee Hayden Lowe disrupts the play.

Texas A&M EDGE Marco Jones then meets Dramecko Green at the line. Looks like the 11-on-11 is over. Was mainly runs and end-arounds.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

DL standouts on Team West

01/09/2025 01:20:44 PM

“Watching the West DL group: based on the body types and what we’ve seen from them so far, I’d consider Notre Dame signee Christopher Burgess more of a defensive lineman and Michigan signee Nate Marshall more of an EDGE.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Practice moving slow thus far for Team West

01/09/2025 01:05:15 PM

“Slow pace so far for the West. Wide receivers and quarterbacks are shoring routes on air. Houston 2026 QB commit Keisean Henderson has impressed with his downfield arm strength.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

West practice now up next

01/09/2025 11:53:58 AM

Team West will soon hit the field and begin their two-hour practice, continuing to prep for Saturday’s clash inside the Alamodome.

“West team is on the field, currently working through special teams.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

More 11-on-11 rounds out the East practice

01/09/2025 11:52:28 AM

“QB Antwann Hill hits 2026 WR Aaron Gregory down the seam for a long gain. 2026 QB Bowe Bentley then finds Cortez Mills on a deep out-breaking route. The Nebraska signee elevates to come down with it.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

“Pressure from 2026 DL Bryce Perry-Wright. The QB doesn’t appear to be live, so Bentley steps up and fires a long pass to Minnesota signee Bradley Martino. Bentley hits 2026 WR Devin Carter down the seam. Carter has been dangerous on vertical routes out of the slot this week.”

“SMU QB signee Ty Hawkins has good protection, steps up in the pocket and fires one to Texas signee Jaime Ffrench who goes up and gets a ball that is a bit high. Antwann Hill targets Quincy Porter, who has a step on 2026 CB Jorden Edmonds downfield, but overshoots him.”

“Good protection but Hill can’t find anyone open, so he tucks it and runs. Notre Dame signee Will Black had a good block on Clemson signee Amare Adams on the right side on that play.”

“Ty Hawkins hits Nebraska signee Cortez Mills on a vertical route. Very nice ball tracking from Mills there. Georgia Tech CB signee Dalen Penson was in coverage. 2026 LB Tyler Atkinson leads a group of defenders in the backfield to force a would-be sack. Hawkins then hits Cortez Mills for a short gain.”

Nebraska WR signee remaining impressive

01/09/2025 11:23:30 AM

“Nebraska four-star wide receiver signee Cortez Mills with a nice catch over his shoulder in routes on air. Walk-through pace, but you can see Notre Dame tight end signee James Flanigan understands understands blocking angles. His body positioning and footwork is on point.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Practice continues at walk-through speed

01/09/2025 10:54:23 AM

“The East QB’s are a little off in the walk through – sailing some passes on air. Five-star Ohio State WR signee Quincy Porter and Kansas State TE signee Linkon Cure have both showed some burst after the catch working with routes on air. The East wide receivers are working on blaze out routes. Quincy Porter is first in line and stands out with the pace within his routes.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

“Iowa State LB signee Will Hawthorne, who was a prolific running back in high school, is getting some reps as a goal line fullback.”

Tight ends continue to look the part

01/09/2025 10:42:37 AM

“The East tight ends – Kansas State signee Linkon Cure and Notre Dame signee James Flanigan complement each other really well. Cure is an elite athlete and Flanigan is a great blocker. Both could definitely be on the field at the same time on Saturday.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Early standouts for Team East on day three

01/09/2025 10:31:12 AM

“Not a surprise, but five-star Notre Dame OT signee Will Black looks extremely comfortable working out to the corner on screen plays. Elite mover at his size. Minnesota WR signee Bradley Martino’s natural ball skills and coordination continue to stick out.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Nation’s top OT not in attendance

01/09/2025 10:22:02 AM

“Haven’t spotted Five-star Plus+ Tennessee OT signee David Sanders Jr. at East practice. Unless he only shows up for the game on Saturday, it seems unlikely he’ll make it.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

East Practice getting underway

01/09/2025 09:59:53 AM

Due to the weather forecast in the area, Thursday’s practice schedule has been staggered. Team East will take the field first at the Alamodome until 12 p.m. CT and will then be followed by Team West, who will be on the field until 2 p.m.

“East team is on the field for this morning’s practice, going through some light warmups and special teams.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings
