2025 NCAA tournament: CBS releases One Shining Moment after Florida's national championship win

A champion has been crowned in San Antonio. Florida and Houston put together an incredible national title game, a fitting end to a Final Four full of one-seeds. The Gators found themselves on the winning end, the first time head coach Todd Golden has cut down the nets.
While confetti rains down from the Alamodome, every other fanbase is waiting for one video before officially closing the book on the 2024-2025 season — One Shining Moment. Moments later, CBS released everyone’s favorite compilation, reliving some of the top moments from the NCAA Tournament.
From the First Four to the Sweet Sixteen, into the Final Four, and then in the national championship. It was an event full of chalk but still entertaining throughout the later rounds. You can check out the full One Shining Moment here.
One Shining Moment will continue to be one of the great traditions in sports. Many complained about the NCAA Tournament being boring early on, citing the lack of upsets and games not being decided near the buzzer. But One Shining Moment reminded us of the top-level moments over the course of three weekends
If there is a downside to the video, it signifies the end of the college basketball season. We now have to wait around seven months for another game. The countdown to Indianapolis 2026 is officially on though, where over 300 teams will be chasing Florida for the sport’s ultimate prize.

Florida wins first national championship since 2007
Billy Donovan had the Florida program on top of the world for a couple of years. Before UConn‘s run, they were the last team to win back-to-back national championships. But nearly two decades had passed before the Gators were back on the Monday night stage, lifting a trophy.
Golden was able to put together a great group ahead of the season. He has stated multiple times how he believes Florida has the best frontcourt and backcourt in college basketball. Disagreeing with him is quite difficult, considering what they just accomplished.
“We did what we did all year,” Golden said postgame. “We stayed the course. We have the best backcourt in America. I think we have the best frontcourt in America. And like we’ve done all year, we made plays when we needed them most. We giarded our butts off down the stretch, made every 50/50 play. The Gators are natty, baby. We got the natty baby, let’s go!”
