The 2025 NCAA Tournament is right around the corner. One of the most beloved events in all of sports. And fans love to debate about who will be the No. 1 seeds for the tournament. ESPN’s Jay Bilas took some time to offer up his opinion on who he thinks will be stone cold locks for the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

“Duke and Auburn are locks, and I think Houston will be, as well. So those three seem like they’re taken up. There’s still a ways to go before we get to Selection Sunday. But I think those three are really, really solid. I think Michigan State could jump up there. If they run the table in the Big Ten, I think you could see Michigan State jump up into a No. 1 seed slot,” Bilas noted during the Alabama-Florida matchup on Wednesday evening.

What should make things even more interesting for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, is that Florida defeated Alabama 99-94. That should bolster their case for a No. 1 overall seed. The Gators outscored the Crimson Tide by four points in the second half, giving them a big win over a top 10 ranked opponent in No. 7 Alabama. Florida had two players score over 20 points, Alex Condon (27 points) and Walter Clayton, Jr. (22 points). The tandem combined to hit four threes between them and Condon grabbed 10 rebounds with two blocks.

Alabama had been a projected No. 1 seed at one point for the 2025 NCAA Tournament, but recently, the Tide’s grip started to slip a bit. Mark Sears poured in 30 points in the loss for the Crimson Tide. He only hit 2 of his 10 three-pointers but drilled 10 of 24 shots from the field. Alabama also got 19 points from Labaron Philon and double digits from Clifford Omoruyi (11 points) and Grant Nelson (10 points).

On March 2nd, the latest Bracketology projections had Alabama projected as a No. 2 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
