The quarterback position is the most important on the field, thus is it important to recruit them from an early stage. The 2023 quarterback situation is an odd one so many are looking to 2024. Well, just for fun, we’re actually going to look to 2025, specifically Frisco (Texas) Rock Hill quarterback Kevin Sperry.

Texas A&M offered Sperry this summer along with several other programs such as Baylor, Ole Miss, Tennesee, and Florida State, among others. He holds 10 total offers at the current time.

Sperry is already a good looking prospect, measuring in at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. This is his first season at the varsity level for Rock Hill, a school that has only been open for three years. The program is trying to find its place in a tough district that includes Prosper, Denton Guyer, and Allen, among other strong programs.

While the Rock Hill program is growing and learning this year, Sperry has shown he is bringing this program in the right direction. With five games left this season and two seasons in front of Sperry, I get the feeling he will have this program winning in no time.

Through six games this season, Sperry has thrown for 1,045 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has 416 yards rushing and six more touchdowns on the ground.

Sperry also has the right mentality to his game and seems to have a strong outlook on his current situation. I asked him what his thoughts were on being the starting quarterback and getting these new experiences.

“It has been going great,” he said. “Just progressing each week. I love the challenge of being a new school in the best district in Texas.”

As a 2025 prospect, Sperry would not have much contact with coaches anyways but he says recruiting is not on his mind right now. He has bigger things to think about.

“I’m locked into the season right now,” Sperry said. “I try to keep in touch when I can during the season to build those relationships so my decision can be very clear in the future. But I want to get this team to playoffs. But I’m blessed to say I’m liking the schools I’ve visited and heard from.”

Sperry has visited Texas A&M once before, this previous June, and he had a good experience. The visit left a good impression on him and should help with their recruitment of him in the future.

“They have a great program, great traditions, and some great coaching,” Sperry said.

Sperry is not yet ranked, but projects as a blue-chip prospect (4-5 star).
