2025 QB Blake Hebert flips commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame
Lawrence (Mass.) Brunswick School three-star quarterback Blake Hebert has flipped his commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame, he announced on Monday.
He was pledged to the Tigers since June 16, 2023 but is now set to join the Fighting Irish, who lost a pledge from four-star QB Deuce Knight earlier this fall.
Hebert is the No. 408 overall prospect and No. 30 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Massachusetts.
“I’d like to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff as well as the program itself for all they have done for me. With that being said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and will spend my next 4 years at another institution,” Hebert wrote announcing his decommitment, shortly before announcing his commitment to the Irish.
Hebert now joins a Notre Dame class that ranks top-15 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He is pledge No. 23 overall for Marcus Freeman and Co.

The Irish originally offered Hebert last June, right before he set his commitment date and chose Clemson. Notre Dame eventually landed a pledge from Knight, but the QB dominoes weren’t done falling over a year later.
After a push from Auburn, the SEC program eventually flipped Knight away from Notre Dame at the beginning of this October. With the Irish once again in need of a QB in their 2025 class, Hebert was identified as a top target and is now in the mix in South Bend.
As a sophmore at Central Catholic, Hebert threw for over 1,700 yards and compiled 28 touchdowns through the air and on his feet. He missed the entire 2023 season after fracturing his ankle in his season-opener. Now at Brunswick School (Conn.) for his senior season, he’s accumulated 15 TDs and 1,138 yards through five games.
