Sadiq White is a length wing prospect out of Charlotte, North Carolina. At 6-foot-7, the class of 2025 White opened eyes as a freshman at Charlotte (NC) Myers Park High averaging 6.0-points and 3.7-rebounds in 17.6 minutes per game.

“I’m able to guard every position, the one through five,” White told On3. “Using my athleticism to defend and get rebounds. I’ve been developing my jump shot, mid-range and outside. The ideal player I love is Jabari Smith, the rookie. He doesn’t say too much but stays locked in and is efficient.”

The rising sophomore continued his progression this summer with Team United on Nike’s EYBL 15u Circuit. College coaches continued to like what they saw. On3 caught up with Sadiq White recently to talk about the early stages of his recruitment.

“I got offers from Georgia, Texas A&M, South Florida, James Madison, and Chicago State,” White said.

White talks recruitment

Georgia: “I’m going to take a visit there this Fall, but I don’t know too much about them right now. I know they got a new coach. Coach (Antonio) Dean offered me after seeing me at the Georgia Live Period in June. He told me I got a chance at this game.”

South Florida: “They say they like my high motor and how I’m going to go at you on defense. Coach (Larry) Dixon and Coach (Brian) Gregory are the two coaches we have talked to so far.”

Texas A&M: “I know a lot about the football there, and I’m just starting to look at their basketball program. Coach Vance (Walden) is the one who offered me after watching me at the North Carolina Live in June.”

“We’ve heard from Illinois too,” White said. “They haven’t offered yet, but could be close.”

White’s take

“Relationship is going to be big for me and my decision,” White said. “I want to come into a program and make an impact on the team and in the community.

“I’d like to be on a team that shares the ball and have the opportunity to play. I just want to show I can play the game.”

On3’s take

Sadiq White has a lot of physical tools. At 6-foot-7, he has long arms, broad shoulders, and an explosively athletic frame. Out in transition is where White is at his best, filling the lanes and racing toward the rim. When locked in, there is the upside to becoming an excellent defender. He can move his feet on the ball and get in the passing lanes off the ball. Offensively, White will have to develop his ball handling and ability to get by his man, especially going right. The jump shot is streaky right now, both with his release and balance point. Still young, with a lot of natural tools, the upside is apparent as he is on a high major trajectory.
