2026 4-star IOL Canon Pickett visiting Michigan this weekend
Michigan is making noise in the recruiting world and Sherrone Moore and his staff will look to make the most of it this weekend as a gaggle of top recruits head to Ann Arbor for the Wolverines’ game against Oregon.
Some of U-M’s biggest targets in the 2026 class are set to be in attendance. On Thursday, Tampa Bay Tech four-star interior offensive lineman Canon Pickett announced that he will be in the Big House, too.
Pickett took his first visit to Ann Arbor at the end of July for the Wolverines’ big summer recruiting event, the ‘BBQ at the Big House.’ Moore, offensive line coach Grant Newsome and the Michigan staff have struck a chord with Pickett throughout his recruitment.
“I thought everything was nice,” Pickett told The Wolverine’s EJ Holland after the visit. “They have a strong legacy there. They have this ball full of first-team All-Americans, and they’ve ran out of space. They’ve always been good at developing, especially at the offensive line position. I enjoyed meeting all the coaches.”
To no surprise, Pickett is currently heavily trending to Miami in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. He is a Hurricanes legacy, and his brother, EDGE Booker Pickett Jr., is currently a true freshman on Mario Cristobal’s team. Pickett was back in Coral Gables last weekend to watch Miami defeat Florida State.
“The program is on an upwards trend and they have one of the best offensive line coaches in the country,” Pickett told On3’s Steve Wiltfong following the trip.

Michigan aiming for more Sunshine State talent
The Wolverines have already made a splash with 2026 recruiting in the state of Florida. Moore and Co. have commitments from Indialantic (Fla.) Cocoa four-star quarterback Brady Hart, Jacksonville Mandarin four-star cornerback Brody Jennings. Hart is a top-100 prospect and top-10 QB, while Jennings is a top-25 CB in the cycle.
Michigan’s 2025 class is highlighted by a top Sunshine State prospect in Winter Garden (Fla.) West Orange four-star safety Ivan Taylor, the No. 60 recruit and No. 7 safety in the senior class.
Canon Pickett is the No. 313 overall prospect and No. 33 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks him higher, as he checks in as the No. 230 recruit and No. 18 IOL in the updated On300.
Pickett holds nearly 20 Power Four offers, including from the likes of Georgia, Florida, Oregon, Texas A&M and LSU — who currently holds a commitment from Pickett’s cousin, Five-Star Plus+ cornerback DJ Pickett, one of the nation’s top 2025 prospects.
