2026 4-star LB Tristan Phillips names top six schools
One of the top linebackers in the junior class has whittled his list of top schools down to six as he continues to work toward a commitment.
On Tuesday afternoon, Ventura (Calif.) four-star LB Tristan Phillips told 247Sports’ Brandon Huffman that he’s down to the following schools: Arizona State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
Phillips touts over 10 Power Four offers and has logged multiple visits this fall. The blue-chipper, who also plays basketball and participates in track and field, is now bringing things into focus following the end of his junior campaign.
Phillips has seen his stock rise amidst an impressive 2024 season that’s witnessed 80 total tackles, a pair of sacks and an interception in 11 games. Across three years, Phillips has racked up 182 total tackles, per MaxPreps.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder is the No. 301 overall prospect and No. 24 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 33 junior in the Golden State.

Oregon made a splash with Phillips last month
One of Phillips’ latest trips saw him head up to Eugene to watch Oregon take down Ohio State inside Autzen Stadium. When speaking with Scoop Duck’s Max Torres afterward, Phillips rated the visit a 10 and raved about Oregon and the staff.
“After the game I got to spend some time with Coach (Brian) Michalowski and got to also hang out with Coach Zac Diles a little bit before the game and after the game,” Phillips said. “Coach (Dan) Lanning came out of the locker room and greeted me, came up to my table and was very excited to see me and was very excited about the win. So I had a great time talking with him.”
“I definitely feel and know that Oregon will be a school very high up on my board and one of my top options when it comes down to it,” he added.
The Ducks have continued to excel recruiting the state of California since Dan Lanning took over at head coach. Phillips will be a target for Oregon moving forward as it battles other Big Ten and Big 12 programs.
