2026 4-star QB Peyton Falzone decommits from Virginia Tech Hokies
Nazareth (Pa.) four-star junior quarterback Peyton Falzone has decommitted from Virginia Tech, he announced Wednesday afternoon on social media.
He had been committed to the Hokies since June 29.
“After deep thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to decommit from Virginia Tech at this time,” Falzone wrote in a statement. “From day one, my family and I were treated with love and respect by the entire staff at Virginia Tech. I am deeply thankful to coach Pry, coach Bowen and everyone in the Hokie family who believed in me and supported my development. I’ll always have great respect and love for Blacksburg and the Hokies.
“Reflecting on discussions with my family, I felt it was necessary to make this change. It didn’t feel right to be visiting other schools while being locked in with Virginia Tech. I owe it to myself, my family and the schools recruiting me to be fully invested in every opportunity I receive during this important time.
“Reopening my recruitment, I am eager to embrace the next steps in this journey. I’m looking forward to working hard this offseason, not only to continue growing as a quarterback but also as a teammate and leader. This new chapter is an opportunity to grow, and I’m excited for what lies ahead.”
Last weekend, Falzone visited Ohio State for the Buckeyes win over No. 5 Indiana. Earlier this month, he visited Penn State.

“I’ve been to Penn State games growing up,” Falzone said when asked if that was his first gameday experience at PSU. “It’s always an awesome experience in Beaver Stadium. It was a great day and it was nice being able to bring my sister and my dad along. I’m glad I was able to see the PSU offense in action.”
Falzone also told On3 that the Penn State staff has a good connection with Nazareth.
“Penn State has a good relationship with Nazareth because of Jahan Dotson and Jake Wilson. It keeps our relationship close having those guys bridge the gap.”
Falzone is the nation’s No. 181 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 15 quarterback in the class and the No. 5 recruit from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
