2026 4-star RB Johnathan Hatton, Jr. is ready to see Alabama for the first time

San Antonio (Texas) Steele running back Johnathan Hatton, Jr. has had coaches in almost daily the last few weeks to see him. One of the coaches who made the trip was Alabama running backs coach Robert Gillespie. He and Hatton are building a good relationship.
“Coach G came out to see me and my parents and we had a great conversation,” Hatton told On3. “I really like his energy and the coach he is.”
Those two will spend more time together this weekend and continue to build on their connection when Hatton and his family make the trip to Tuscaloosa.
“What has Alabama on my radar is the way coach G develops the backs and gets them ready for the NFL.
“On this visit, I want to see the energy in the building from coaches and staff. I want to see how I would fit into the offense too. The resources for player development off the field is something else I want to learn more about.”

Alabama has identified the No. 56 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking as a target on the offensive side of the ball. What he hears makes him feel like a priority.
“They’ve been consistent in recruiting me,” Hatton added. “They have been very clear about wanting me there.”
The four-star was at one time committed to Oklahoma, but backed off that pledge early in December. The only official visit he has scheduled is to Texas A&M on June 5-7. Alabama, Ohio State and a few others are being considered for other official visits.
