2026 5-star QB Jared Curtis visited by Georgia OC Mike Bobo
Coaches across the country have hit the road to visit the schools and homes of top recruits in the 2026 recruiting class. Earlier this week, Nashville Christian five-star quarterback Jared Curtis was visited by Auburn quarterbacks coach Kent Austin. On Thursday, it was Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo’s turn to see the elite passer out of Nashville.
Curtis was previously committed to UGA, having chosen the ‘Dawgs on March 23. He decommitted from Georgia on Oct. 17, but the Red and Black remain in the mix.
“That morning, I called coach (Mike) Bobo, coach (Kirby) Smart…told them about the news. Of course, they took it how I expected they would, no hard feelings,” Curtis said, recalling his decision to decommit. “Obviously they’re not out of the race yet, you know, love them guys and I’d love to get back up there and talk to them. But you know, I just wanted to visit other places and not be committed, so that’s what I’m going to do, and still keeping Georgia in the way.”
More on the status of Curtis’ recruitment
After winning a state championship last month, Curtis told On3’s Chad Simmons that a select group of schools were standing out.
“I have it narrowed down to some schools, but I’d say we have taken it back to square one,” Curtis told On3. “South Carolina, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, USC and Ohio State are the main ones right now.
He said the plan is to take his official visits before making a commitment this time.
“I will wait until official visits to make my decision,” Curtis said. “I will get out more. When official visits open up, I will get down on some visits, see the school and see what I like about it.
“The factors when I make a decision will be the coaching staff, my relationship with the coaching staff and the class they bring in this year. Those and the class I would bring in with me would be the biggest things.”

Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year
Following the 2024 high school football season, Curtis was named Tennessee Football Player of the Year by Gatorade.
The junior gunslinger led the Eagles to a 13-1 record and a state title. Entering the final game of his season, Curtis had thrown for 2,672 yards and 38 touchdowns while also rushing for 577 yards and an additional 14 scores.
“Gatorade Player of the Year is the top honor in high school sports, celebrating the nation’s best high school athletes for their success on the field, in the classroom and in the community. The award distinguishes Curtis as Tennessee’s best high school football player, and he joins an impressive group of alumni that spans CEOs, coaches and star athletes such as Emmitt Smith (1986-87, Escambia High School, Fl.), Peyton Manning (1993-94, Isidore Newman School, La.) and DJ Lagway (2023-24, Willis High School, Texas),” Gatorade wrote of Curtis in a press release.
