DeKalb (Ill.) 2026 three-star athlete Davon Grant has committed to Illinois, he announced Wednesday evening on social media.

“I’m blessed to say that I have committed to the University of Illinois!” Grant wrote.

Grant is the nation’s No. 592 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the No. 44 athlete in the class and the No. 12 recruit from the state of Illinois.

As a junior at DeKalb, Grant recorded 67 catches for 1,016 yards and seven touchdowns. The Barbs finished a rough season on a high note, beating Stagg 41-0 to end the year with a 1-8 record.

Grant is the third prospect to commit to Bret Bielema’s 2026 recruiting class, joining Orlando (Fla.) Seminole three-star quarterback Michael Clayton and Apopka (Fla.) The First Academy linebacker Kingston Shaw.
