Muscle Shoals (Ala.) three-star EDGE Kamhariyan Johnson has committed to Alabama after his visit this weekend, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pounder chose the Crimson Tide over more than 30 offers, which included fellow finalists Ole MissClemsonUSCAuburnOklahomaMiami and Florida. He had official visits locked in with the Crimson Tide, Tigers (both Clemson and Auburn), Trojans, Rebels and Hurricanes. But after visiting for A-Day, he decided to pull the trigger on his decision.

“When looking into a school, I want to play for great coaches who can help me get to the NFL,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “That is important, then playing for a good team and going where I am comfortable at played a role in this list.”

He originally planned to commit in July, but now joins an Alabama recruiting class that ranks No. 5 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Along with five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, top-100 CB Zyan Gibson, and four-star Jamarion Matthews, he becomes the fourth defensive commitment for Kalen DeBoer and Co. this cycle.

Johnson is the No. 500 overall prospect and No. 52 EDGE in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3, however, is higher on him than other services. In the most recent rankings update, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 34 EDGE and No. 14 recruit in Alabama, falling just outside four-star status.
