2026 EDGE Jordan Carter at the start of his journey
Douglasville (Ga.) Douglas County 2026 edge Jordan Carter’s recruitment is in that little place in time that we call dawn.
He’s at the start line ready to run an Indianapolis 500-esque recruitment. Carter has picked up 11 early offers. More are coming. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound edge had a strong showing this spring and closed it out with a strong performance in Douglas County’s spring game on Thursday night.
Carter went into the offseason with the goal of adding some size. He was able to do that and has hit a new level going into 2023.
“The change I had was more about me bulking up in the weight room and getting faster,” Carter told On3. “I want to get around the edge faster and be able to dominate bigger opponents like Juan (Gaston). I’m working on speed and more power.”
Carter got a new offer from Connecticut before he’d whipped the grass off his cleats from Thursday’s game.
He’s already taken visits to programs like Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and Clemson already. Those programs haven’t offered but Carter has his eyes on all of them early on. He considers Alabama, Georgia, Clemson and LSU as his ‘dream schools’ when he was younger.
Jordan Carter already eyeing the in-state Bulldogs ahead of visit
Carter is set to visit Georgia on June 19. On Thursday, Carter walked out of the locker room sporting gloves with the Georgia ‘G’ dotted in the center.

The in-state powerhouse is one of Carter’s dream schools. There’s a lot to like about the Bulldogs for the rising defensive lineman.
“The way Georgia produces defensive linemen and defensive players stands out,” Carter told On3. “Coming out of the draft, they had a bunch of them. That really stood out to me while I was watching the draft and watching them play during the season. It made me think that would be a good move and a way to the NFL.”
Carter was in attendance for Georiga’s game against Kent State on Sept. 24. The atmosphere made an impression. Carter was able to make the visit alongside fellow 2026 star Carrollton (Ga.) Julian Lewis.
“The gameday was packed,” Carter said. “There were a lot of fans, so they treated us well. I was there with Juju (Julian Lewis), so I got a real experience of everything. If I got an offer from them, I’d be very excited. I’d be smiling the entire time, I’m not even going to lie.”
