2026 QB Kane Archer commits to UCF Knights

Greenwood (Ark.) three-star quarterback Kane Archer has committed to UCF, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday.
Archer chose the Knights over SMU, Arkansas and Appalachian State, as well as more than a dozen other reported offers.
The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder is the No. 560 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 33 quarterback and No. 7 recruit in the state of Arkansas.
On3 is slightly higher on him than other services, tabbing him as the country’s No. 28 passer and No. 2 player in his state.
Earlier this spring, he named his top seven schools with SMU, UCF, Louisville, Appalachian State, Missouri, Arkansas and Ole Miss making the cut. However, after a few quarterback dominoes fell with those programs and the Knights continued to make him a top priority, he’s now headed to play for Scott Frost and Co.

Archer has been a national recruiting name for more than two years after a breakout sophomore campaign at Greenwood. He has won back-to-back state championships, led the school to 26 consecutive wins and was named the 2024 Gatorade Player of the Year in his home state after completing a national record 81.5% of his passes for 3,880 yards, 57 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions last season.
He added 795 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
His commitment is the eighth for the Knights, who also have pledges from four-star wideout Tyren Wortham and three-stars Antoine Sharp, Michael McClenton, Kasiyah Charlton, Kymani Morales, Charlie Jilek and Elijah Keys.
With him in the fold, UCF’s class sits at No. 49 nationally and No. 10 in the Big 12, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
