'26 Team Ranking AFI

The 2026 recruiting cycle is full-speed ahead now that the February signing period for 2025 recruits is out of the way. On Monday morning, On3 released its updated player rankings for the rising senior class, and there have been some shifts in the industry team rankings because of that.

The On3 Industry Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. The On3 Industry Ranking is the industry’s most advanced, complete and unbiased measurement. It weights the primary recruiting media services based on past performance data, and overall scouting and recruiting coverage investment.

For football, the algorithm is weighted as follows: On3 (35%), 247Sports (35%), Rivals.com (20%) and ESPN (10%).

1. Oregon – 94.031

9 commits: 2 five-star | 5 four-stars | 2 three-stars
Top Commit: TE Kendre Harrison, (No. 13 OVR, No. 1 TE)

The Ducks are setting the pace early in this cycle with commitments from five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, five-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene, No. 5 running back Tradarian Ball and No. 4 defensive lineman Tony Cumberland, along with a trio of four-stars.

2. USC – 93.779

11 commits: 0 five-stars | 7 four-stars | 4 three-stars
Top Commit: LB Xavier Griffin (No. 23 OVR, No. 2 LB)

After the addition of four-star defensive end Simote Katoanga on Sunday, the Trojans are creeping up on their Big Ten rivals for the No. 1 spot. He’s flanked in one of the country’s best defensive classes by four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin and four-star cornerbacks RJ Sermons and Brandon Lockhart. USC recently flipped top-100 QB Jonas Williams from the Ducks as well.

3. LSU – 92.288

6 commits: 0 five-stars | 5 four-stars | 1 three-star
Top Commit: DL Richard Anderson, (No. 31 OVR, No. 1 DL)

Coming off yet another top-10 recruiting class, the Tigers are hot again in 2026 and are making the state a massive priority. Each of LSU’s six commitments hail not only from Louisiana, but five of six are from New Orleans in particular. Four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson is a top-40 prospect, along with offensive tackle Brysten Martinez and Aiden Hall. They’ve also got a pair four-star wideouts in Kenny Darby and Jakai Anderson.

4. Texas A&M – 91.914

9 commits: 0 five-stars | 8 four-stars | 1 three-star
Top Commit: WR Aaron Gregory, (No. 55 OVR, No. 8 WR)

Mike Elko and his staff have made major headway early on with nine commitments. And arguably the most surprising part of that is only one hails from the Lone Star State. The top two pledges, WR Aaron Gregory and DL Jordan Carter, are some of the best in Georgia. The Aggies also have a trio of commitments from California and two more from Utah.

5. Auburn – 91.629

6 commits: 0 five-stars | 5 four-stars | 1 three-star
Top Commit: EDGE Hezekiah Harris No. 88 OVR, (No. 13 EDGE)

Much like they did in the 2025 class, Auburn is prioritizing its local targets again in 2026. Harris and four-star linebackers Shadarius Toodle and JaMichael Garrett are the centerpieces of the group, but the Tigers also have four-star wideouts Devin Carter and Denairius Gray in the fold.

6. Penn State – 91.263

9 commits: 0 five-stars | 5 four-stars | 4 three-stars
Top Commit: IOL Kevin Brown, No. 44 OVR, (No. 4 IOL)

The Nittany Lions consistently get an early start each cycle, and this one is no different. They’ve loaded up at the skill positions to begin with, as well Brown and edge rusher Daniel Jennings. California four-star quarterback Troy Huhn is one of the leaders in class, and he’ll have no shortage of targets around him with running back Messiah Mickens and receivers Jahsiear Rogers, Jerquaden Guilford and Lavar Keys.

7. Ohio State – 91.127

4 commits: 1 five-star | 3 four-star | 0 three-stars
Top Commit: WR Chris Henry Jr., No. 8 OVR (No. 2 WR)

Ohio State is off to a solid start in 2026, with a quartet of commitments led by Henry, who is one of the nation’s top wideouts. He, along with tight end Corbyn Fordham and wide receiver Jaeden Ricketts, make up a talented pass-catching group. On the defensive side, Jakob Weatherspoon projects as a top defensive back at the next level.

8. Texas – 91.022

3 commits: 1 five-star | 2 four-star | 0 three-stars
Top Commit: QB Dia Bell, No. 10 OVR (No. 3 WR)

Steve Sarkisian and Co. only have three commitments thus far in the cycle, including two in the past three weeks. But the Longhorns have one of the highest average ratings per commitment, led by Bell, who was recently named a five-star by On3. Offensive tackle Max Wright is an emerging prospect, and wide receiver Chris Stewart is one of the Lone Star State’s top playmakers.

9. Tennessee – 90.939

7 commits: 1 five-star | 2 four-stars | 4 three-stars
Top Commit: QB Faizon Brandon, No. 6 OVR (No. 2 QB)

Brandon, the country’s No. 3 QB, is the headliner of a group that already has a lot of depth 10 months out from signing day. Four-star wideout Tyreek King and blue-chip tight end Carson Sneed are talented pass-catchers, along with Tyran Evans, a new On3 four-star.

10. Notre Dame – 90.824

7 commits: 0 five-stars | 5 four-stars | 2 three-stars
Top Commit: IOL Tyler Merrill, No. 99 OVR (No. 5 IOL)

The Fighting Irish have loaded up along the offensive line early in this cycle with a trio of commitments from Merrill, Sullivan Garvin and Ben Nichols. They join four-stars Chaston Smith, Thomas Davis Jr. and Noah Grubbs to round out Notre Dame’s top-10 class so far.
