2026 safety Levi Grigson has his first offer and Big Ten interest

Maplewood (Minn.) Hill-Murray 2026 safety Levi Grigson recently picked up his first scholarship from Eastern Michigan.

Several Big Ten programs including Minnesota and Purdue are showing interest.

“He’s a great athlete,” Grigson’s coach Rob Reeves said. “He has a great football IQ. 

“Obviously I tell everybody recruiting starts on paper first and he’s college ready right now in terms of his body type, height, size. As a safety that’s where I think he’ll end up in college. He already has the frame and body type to do it.”

The 6-foot, 189-pound Grigson then produces on Friday nights.

“He can tackle, tackle in space,” Reeves said. “He can come down in the box. You can put him in man coverage against the other team’s best player. He did a lot for us on the defensive side for ball.”

Grigson talked about all the good things that are happening.

“I have junior day invites from Dartmouth, Princeton, Cornell, North Dakota, Minnesota, and I recently went to Purdue for a junior day,” Grigson said. “North Dakota State came to my school and I have been talking with them. I have camp invites from Syracuse, Northern Iowa and Northwestern. I also took a visit to Air Force academy in the fall.”

Grigson’s father Ryan played at Purdue and he enjoyed his recruiting trip to West Lafayette.

“Was a cool experience,” Grigson said. “I am familiar with it. Had some good conversations with the coaching staff there and they talked to me about coming down to camp in person.”

Grigson also plays lacrosse and sports a 4.1 GPA.
