Charlotte Providence Day will now have a pair of five-stars on its football roster for the upcoming 2024 season.

Reidsville (N.C.) Five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, an elite prospect in both football and basketball, announced on Thursday that he’s transferring from Reidsville High to Providence Day, joining forces with Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle David Sanders Jr.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pounder racked up over 1,200 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns across his first two seasons. Harrison also plays defensive end and has accumulated a whopping 168 tackles and 18 sacks.

On the basketball court, the forward averaged over 20 points and 15 rebounds per game. He’s also good for four blocks an outing and has the ability to obliterate backboards, too.

Providence Day has won three consecutive state championships and will be in the running to make it a four-peat this season. Harrison will bring an unrivaled level of athleticism on both sides of the ball for the Chargers.

Harrison down to six schools

Last month, Harrison cut his list of top schools down to six.

North CarolinaTennesseeOregonPenn StateMiami and Florida State are the schools I will focus on now,” Harrison told On3. “I have over 40 combining basketball and football offers and all six schools on my list say I can play both.

“These schools produce tight ends, I like the offenses each school runs and I have relationships with coaches.”

All six finalists have had Harrison on campus. The five-star says he isn’t looking to commit until 2025 and will continue to work through his process this fall. He broke down each of his six finalists with On3’s Chad Simmons.

He is the No. 9 overall prospect and top-ranked tight end in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also a four-star basketball recruit, checking in at No. 45 overall and No. 6 at the power forward spot.

Kendre Harrison Scouting Summary

On3 writes this of Harrison as a prospect:

“Freakish two-sport athlete who is one of the most physically imposing prospects in the nation, regardless of class. A true ‘first off the bus’ type. Listed at 6-foot-7, 230 pounds. Plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school team. Moves like a much smaller player. Runs well and shows the ability to separate from linebackers. Has considerable mismatch ability as a pass catcher. Does not lumber unlike many players of his size. Also flashes intriguing upside as a pass rusher on defense. Doubles as a national basketball prospect with high major offers. Averaged over 21 points and 15 rebounds per game as a high school freshman on the hardwood. Has genuine positional ambiguity at this stage in his evaluation, but owns one of the higher physical upsides in the 2026 cycle early on.”
