2026 wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford decommits from Penn State

Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop three-star wide receiver Jerquaden Guilford has decommitted from Penn State, he announced on Friday evening.
He had been committed to the Nittany Lions since December, when he chose them over more than 20 other reported offers.
“After intense discussions with my family, I have decided to decommit from Penn State and reopen my
recruitment,” he wrote on X. “This was not an easy decision, and I have so much respect and love for Coach Franklin, Coach Hagans, and the entire Penn State staff for accepting me and believing in me.
I want to take the time to thoroughly evaluate my options and ensure that the school I choose aligns with the values my family and I hold. With the new landscape of college recruiting, I want to make a decision that is as close to perfect as possible for my future. Thank you to Penn State for everything, and I appreciate all the coaches and supporters who continue to guide me on this journey.”
Guilford was one of nine early commitments for the Nittany Lions, whose class ranked No. 6 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings coming into the day. He was one of three wide receiver pledges for Penn State as well, joining On300 wideout Jahsiear Rogers and three-star pass-catcher Lavar Keys.

When he initially chose Penn State, Guilford did so over offers from Indiana, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State and Wisconsin, among others.
Over the last two seasons, the 6-foot-2, 180-pounder has turned 61 receptions into 930 yards and seven touchdowns, averaging over 15 yards per catch.
Guilford is the No. 445 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 67 wide receiver and No. 3 prospect in Indiana.
