The name Jaxx DeJean will ring a bell for college football fans, as the sophomore athlete out of Odebolt (Iowa) OABCIG is the younger brother of former Iowa star and now Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean.

The younger DeJean debuted as On3’s No. 24 overall prospect and No. 3 athlete in the 2027 cycle earlier this week. As he gears up for his second season of high school football, DeJean’s recruiting process is getting underway.

To no surprise, Iowa offered the 6-foot-4, 200-pounder in June. Later that month, Kansas State threw its hat in the ring with an offer. Both schools have already had him on campus and are now set to have him back this fall, as HawkeyeReport’s Blair Sanderson reported on Thursday that DeJean is planning game visits to both schools.

“Class of 2027 standout Jaxx DeJean is planning game day visits to Iowa on Sept. 7 and Kansas State on Oct. 26,” Sanderson wrote on X.

Both visits would come during important weekends for both programs. The Hawkeyes are set to host rival Iowa State on Sept. 7, while K-State is set to host rival Kansas on Oct. 26.

“DeJean watched his brother Cooper shine in Iowa City and the Hawkeyes staff wants to run it back. They’re one of the programs on him the hardest along with Kansas State,” On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong wrote earlier this week.

As a freshman at OABCIG, DeJean did a little bit of everything. He hauled in 500 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while also rushing for five scores on offense. On defense, he snatched four interceptions and also recovered a pair of fumbles. UAB was the first Division I program to offer DeJean, doing so at the end of February.
