Ruskin (Fla.) Lennard four-star 2027 safety Mekhi Williams has committed to Florida State, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Williams chose the Seminoles over offers from Colorado and Toledo, and he is coming off a recent visit to Tallahassee for the program’s big recruiting weekend.

The 6-foot-2, 167-pounder is the No. 209 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 20 safety and the No. 23 recruit in the Sunshine State.

He becomes the second commitment of the rising junior class for FSU, joining four-star Mobile (Ala.) Williamson safety Jaylen Scott.

As a sophomore, Williams totaled 41 tackles and six interceptions, to go along with three pass breakups and a sack.
