3-star ATH Brandyn Hillman releases commitment date

Portsmouth (Va.) Churchland three-star athlete Brandyn Hillman will be announcing his commitment on Dec. 7, his mother’s birthday. This news comes one day after Hillman revealed his top eight schools, a list that includes Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

Hillman is the No. 417 overall prospect and No. 17 athlete in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Virginia. 

On3 rates Hillman higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Even though he isn’t ranked in the 2023 On300, Hillman is the No. 16 athlete in the country, per On3.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect took an official visit to the Fighting Irish on Oct. 14. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame has a commanding lead for his commitment at 99.4%. 

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Hillman has an On3 NIL Valuation of $15.6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
