3-Star cornerback Vernon Glover, Jr. talks top five schools
Dickinson (Texas) cornerback Vernon Glover, Jr. has double-digit offers and he is starting to narrow his focus down to a small group of schools.
Colorado, Florida State, Houston, Texas A&M, and TCU have moved to the top of Glover’s list. He has visited each at least once other than Colorado. He likes what each has to offer.
“These five schools stuck out most because of how consistent they have been recruiting me and how I could see myself being part of their program,” Glover told On3. “Based on my visits and talking with the coaches, these five have what I am looking for.”
Relationships are important to Glover. The opportunity to play is something he is looking for too. The development will play a role in his decision too. He could make that decision later this summer.
“I am not 100% sure yet when I will commit, but I am leaning towards before my senior year. It is something I am still thinking about. I am not sure about official visits or when I want to commit. Something could happen this summer though.”
Glover recently got back to Houston, a school he has visited over half a dozen times, and visited TCU for the first time.
The local school has given Glover a lot to think about and the Horned Frogs made a strong impression.
“I have always thought I could go anywhere, but with Houston, I could stay home and be great. Staying home and playing for coach Belk and that staff has been on my mind. It is right down the road and I am comfortable there.

“TCU is starting to make some noise with their recruiting class and I like coach Buckles. I was there for spring practice and it just felt good to be there. Coach Buckles has been talking to me every day since that visit.”
FSU offered last summer when Glover camped in Tallahassee. He has not been back since. The history at Florida State, especially their production at cornerback, has the Seminoles high on his list.
Colorado has Darian Hagan and Rod Chance recruiting Glover. What they have said has connected with Glover and without a visit, the Buffalos are still under consideration.
Texas A&M signed the No. 1 recruiting class in 2023 and two of Glover’s teammates were part of that. He has a connection to the Aggies and he likes what Jimbo Fisher is doing in College Station.
“Texas A&M is building that pipeline to Dickson, so I have to keep them in the mix,” Glover said. “The recruiting class they had last year was special and they are building something. I know if I played for coach Fisher and coach Rushing, they would get me right.”
