3-star S Jamaal Shaw announces commitment date

Orange (Texas) West Orange-Stark three-star safety Jamaal Shaw will be revealing his college decision on Aug. 26. He announced the news on social media.

Shaw previously shared a top three of Baylor, Houston and UTSA. He is the No. 662 overall prospect and No. 63 safety in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Cougars have the lead for Shaw’s commitment at 43.8%. The Bears’ odds are 3%, while the Roadrunners’ chance is 2.5%.

Shaw, a 6-foot-1, 180 pound defensive back, has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
