While a decision for Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon likely won’t come until early August, he’s getting a better picture of what schools he may end up at.

Solomon announced a top five of Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, South Carolina and Texas A&M Monday afternoon.

“I felt like these were the schools that made the most contact with me throughout my recruitment,” Solomon told On3. “They never took their foot off of the gas and always showed loved. Even if those schools weren’t a top priority for me, I feel like they’d still be recruiting me like they have.”

Lewis noted Auburn, Florida State and South Carolina are the three who have been after him the longest and the most consistent. He said that Texas A&M and Kentucky came in a bit later but have been fairly consistent since getting involved.

The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder took official visits to Florida State, Kentucky and South Carolina during June and also visited Texas A&M for a workout. He’s hoping to take an official to Auburn during the season.

Florida State currently has the lead for Solomon according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). According to Solomon, the Seminoles and South Carolina lead the race for him and it’s a tight race.

“It’s going to come down to where I feel the most comfortable,” said Solomon, the No. 224 player in the 2024 class. “I want to feel comfortable, have a family environment and have a relationship with everyone outside of football. When I feel that I’ve found that, that’s where I’ll go.”

Lewis breaks down his top five

Auburn: “They’re coming at me real hard. Coach Crime (Wesley McGriff) wants me really bad and said that as soon as he gets me, their class will be locked in. Coach Freeze always tells how much love and support he has for my family and that I’m his top priority guy.”

Florida State: “They haven’t taken the foot off of the gas since they offered me. I love culture there, the atmosphere, the fans and the love and support they have for me.”

Kentucky: “It was my first time visiting them but it felt like I had been there more than once. The coaches make you feel like it’s home and they have a great plan for me on the offensive side of the ball so I like that.”

South Carolina: “I remember my first time up there and the fans were acting like it was my 50th time there. They love you down there regardless of who you are. I love the players, the staff and everyone makes it feel like home.”

Texas A&M: “After putting on a great show for the coaches, Coach Fisher told me I could play any position that I wanted. He just needed me on the field.”
