4-star CB Charles Bass has locked in eight spring visits
East St. Louis (Mo.) cornerback Charles Bass is about to hit the road. The No. 293 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking has lined up eight visits for March and April as he navigates the recruiting process in hopes of making a summer commitment.
Bass has lined up visits to Arkansas (March 7), Missouri (March 16), LSU (March 28), Tennessee (April 1), Cincinnati (April 10), Illinois (April 12), Nebraska (April 13) and Kansas (April 18).
He mentioned that he is still working on locking in visits to Colorado, Michigan and Michigan State this spring. Bass is part of the California Power 7-on-7 program and he will visits schools with them as well in the coming months. Alabama, Georgia and Georgia Tech are already on the calendar for March.
Visits will play a major role in Bass’ decision.
“I will go where I feel most at home,” Bass told On3 earlier this year. “I also want to go where I will be developed on and off the field. My trust in the coaches is important. The connection with the people will be a factor too.”
Missouri is working hard to keep Bass home
Bass was at the LSU game early last season before returning to Columbia in January. The staff has been as consistent with Bass as any staff that is recruiting him. And that has paid off.
“The main things that keep me going back are the coaches and the relationship that I have built with the staff,” Bass told On3 after that visit.
On the visit Saturday, Bass spent time with the staff and they broke things down for him. They showed him their plan and how he would fit into the program. He sat in on a team meeting to get a better feel of the culture around the players.

A highlight for Bass was his one-on-one meeting with Coach Drinkwitz, but again, it was the staff at Missouri that made a strong impression.
“I got to spend time with every coach and staff member today. I had some time with Coach Al Pogue. Me and Coach Drink got more time together too. A lot of the coaches kept walking up to me letting me know they were glad I made it down.”
The No. 7 prospect in the Show Me State is not ready to name the Tigers his leader, but they are somewhere toward the top of his list.
“I left the school feeling like Missouri is definitely up there,” Bass said. “They had an awesome season last year and Coach Drink is looking to build on it.”
