4-star CB Danny Odem commits to Nebraska: 'Coach Rhule is building something special'

Orlando (Fla.) The First Academy cornerback Danny Odem‘s recruitment took off over the last year. The four-star was at one time committed to North Carolina very early in the process, but after picking up over 30 offers and taking some official visits, it came down to Nebraska and Ohio State.
He committed to the Huskers.
“It was a very tough decision because I like both schools a lot, but I had to go with Nebraska,” Odem told On3. “The relationships I have with the staff made the biggest difference. I am close to a lot of the coaches at Nebraska. They all recruit me and they all like me there. Coach Addison (Williams), coach Butler, coach Rhule – they all have recruited me. That meant a lot to me.”
Ohio State gave him a lot to think about. Clemson was high on his list at one time and Oklahoma made a nice run too. He wants to be in Lincoln.
“There is nowhere like it. Before I visited Nebraska, I thought Lincoln was in the middle of nowhere with nothing around it. I was wrong. It is a big city with a lot to do and great fans. They have big buildings, great resources and it can really help you after football.”

The new commit is big on life after football. He wants a great degree, but while earning that, he plans ot help Nebraska work its way up to the top.
“Coach Rhule is building something special,” Odem said. “He knows how to win. They had a good season last year, but they are just getting started. Nebraska had a great offense, but with the addition coach Butler and coach Addison, the defense will be a lot better and even things out. Nebraska is about to go a lot higher.”
