Statesboro (Ga.) four-star cornerback Kam Mikell may be being recruited as an elite defensive prospect — but he lit up the scoreboard on offense Friday night.

Mikell accounted for four total touchdowns in Statesboro’s 49-27 win over Tucker.

The star defensive back announced plans to commit on Thanksgiving.

Mikell is the nation’s No. 91 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 9 cornerback and No. 13 recruit from Georgia.

He currently holds an On3 NIL Valuation of $108,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Georgia has momentum

On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons had the following to say earlier in the week about the buzz surrounding Mikell’s recruitment.

“Georgia seemed to gain a little momentum over the weekend when they had Kam Mikell back in town,” Simmons wrote. “The four-star cornerback (being recruited primarily as a wide receiver) out of Statesboro (Ga.) was in Athens for the first time since his official visit in the spring and the Bulldogs made sure he knew he is a top priority. Mikell stayed the night in Athens, hanging with other recruits and players while in town. He got a lot of attention from Bryan McClendon, and with a commitment date set for Nov. 23, Georgia has put itself in a good position.

:As reported before, Texas A&M has faded in its race, and it is down to Colorado, Georgia and Tennessee. Mikell will now return to Boulder this weekend, then Knoxville next week, before making his decision.”

Georgia currently leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with an 83.6% chance of landing Mikell’s commitment. Colorado follows in a distant second at 6%.
