4-star CB Tae Harris locks in a pair of official visits
Cedartown (Ga.) 2025 four-star cornerback Tae Harris has become a coveted commodity in the weeks since his decommitment from Georgia last month.
“Some of the schools I am talking to a lot right now are Clemson, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCF and Georgia Tech,” Harris told On3 when he decommitted. “Those are just some, but there are others. A lot of schools are pushing for me now.”
Now, Harris is looking to take the next steps in his recruitment and has locked in a pair of official visits for early this summer, he tells On3’s Chad Simmons.
Harris will visit Clemson the weekend of May 31 and will follow that with a visit to Georgia Tech beginning June 7.
He recently visited the Yellow Jackets, along with Florida, and plans to see Clemson in March.
Harris’ decommitment had been brewing for a while
The 6-foot, 180-pounder initially pledged to the Bulldogs in June 2023 with former defensive backs coach Fran Brown leading his recruitment.

In November, Brown accepted the head coaching job at Syracuse, upending Harris’ pledge to the UGA. Georgia hired defensive backs coach Donte Williams away from USC and safeties coach Travaris Robinson away from Alabama, but his connection with Brown was a big reason for his interest in the Bulldogs.
“I have been thinking about this for a while now,” Harris told Simmons. “Since the coaching change (Fran Brown), things just have been shaky with Georgia, so I want to explore my options a bit more. I am open to all schools now.”
LSU and Tennessee have also been in contention with Harris since the fall, and Oklahoma is the latest program to extend him an offer.
