4-star cornerback Maliki Crawford commits to USC
Oxnard (Calif.) Pacifica cornerback Maliki Crawford has committed to USC, he announced Tuesday afternoon.
Crawford, a one-time UCLA commit, is the No. 307 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the country’s No. 34 cornerback and the No. 20 senior in the state of California.
He chose the Trojans over the crosstown rival Bruins, as well as Cal, Washington, Miami, Michigan State and a handful of others. The 6-foot-3, 171-pounder becomes USC’s 14th commitment in the 2023 cycle, joining a class headlined by Five-Star Plus+ prospects Malachi Nelson and Zachariah Branch.

Crawford took an official visit to UCLA in May and one to Cal in early June. He originally planned to take an official visit to USC for the Trojans’ huge recruiting weekend in mid-June, but wasn’t able to make it. He had previously committed to the Bruins back in July 2021, but backed off that pledge in January.
Early last month, he named a top three of Cal, UCLA and USC, with the Trojans winning out today over the other two in-state programs.
With his commitment, USC ranks No. 11 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
