4-star Dailyn Swain sets Xavier visit; talks Marquette, Ohio State, etc.
Dailyn Swain came in at No. 81 in On3’s recent 2023 rankings update. The 6-foot-6 guard intrigued onlookers during Nike’s Peach Jam with his length and ball skills at his size.
“I’m a positionless player,” Swain told On3. “I’m very versatile; I play defense, rebound, facilitate, and can score too. Whatever the coach needs me to do to win, I can do. I wouldn’t compare myself to any one player and put myself in one box. I pride myself on my versatility.”
The unique nature of Swain’s game has caught the eyes of college programs as well. On3 caught up with Dailyn Swain recently to talk about his recruitment and visits.
“I’ve taken one official visit so far to Marquette,” Swain said. “I’ve got a visit set with Xavier. I’m working through trying to set visits with Oregon and Ohio State.”
Swain talks visits
Marquette: “I learned about the coaching staff and the energy they bring every day. I got to see up close what the program is all about, and I liked that.”
Xavier: “I’m going to visit them on August 4. Coach (Sean) Miller is really good at developing players. He has put a lot of guys into the league. I like where the program is located, close to home.”

Oregon: “They recently reached out to me, started recruiting me. They have been at a few of my games, so I am just starting to learn about them and their program. I know the PAC 12 is a really good conference, and I would fit well in that conference.”
Ohio State: “They have been recruiting me for the longest of any schools in the mix right now. I like the coaching staff. I know some of the players there. What all they have to offer me sounds intriguing.”
In his words
“I’m going to be looking at the energy of the coaches,” Swain said. “The type of culture the players have set in the program will be big for me too. I want to see how each program operates.
“Location won’t really matter for me, but the style of play and fit will be big. I want to play in a fast-paced, positionless system. I’m a big guard, so I want to see their plan for me.”
