4-star DL Christian Garrett sets July commitment date
Bogart (Ga.) Prince Avenue Christian four-star defensive lineman Christian Garrett has a busy official visit schedule upcoming in the next two months. Once those visits are settled, he will announce his college decision.
Garrett told On3 that he will announce his commitment on July 20.
The 6-foot-3, 261-pound Garrett told On3 earlier this month that he was “focusing” on Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee.
“These four schools I am focusing on and each of these schools has an equal chance,” Garrett told On3. “All four schools check each box that I have and they have recruited me the hardest. They have all made it known that I am a priority for them.
“Now, I will take my official visits, take it all into consideration, talk it over with my family, pray about it a little more and figure it the final days before I wrap it up.
“Relationships and development will be important to me. I want to go somewhere that will build me off me off the field, but develop me at the same rate on the field.”
Garrett will take official visits to Clemson on May 31, Georgia June 7, Georgia Tech June 14 and Tennessee on June 21.
He is the nation’s No. 122 overall prospect, No. 9 defensive lineman and No. 17 recruit from Georgia in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Garrett talks Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech and Tennessee
Clemson: “I was last at Clemson for a practice in March and I have been there four times. My best relationship is with Coach Nick Eason. I have a good one with Coach Dabo Swinney too. My favorite things about Clemson is how they check the boxes for me, especially the Christ side of things for me. Clemson will make me better on and off the field and they show time after time that they develop defensive linemen there.”
Georgia: “I was at Georgia for a spring practice in March too and I have been there double-digit times. What I most about Georgia is their coaching style. They are going to push you and get the best out of their players. They have shown they will take care of their guys, develop their guys and hold their guys to the highest standard. I really like Coach Tray Scott and I like his track record at developing defensive linemen.”
Georgia Tech: “Georgia Tech is a school I was at last week and I have been there four times. I think Georgia Tech is building something special, and if it is something you want to be a part of, then you need to hop on board now. I really they are on the come up and I like Coach Jess Simpson, Coach Tyler Santucci and Coach Brent Key a lot. Some big changes are coming at Georgia Tech.”
Tennessee: “Tennessee is another school I have visited around four times. I was last there for a practice in March. Tennesse has really taken the time to build a relationship with me and get to know me on a deeper level. They always let me know that I am a need and not a want there. I have strong relationships with Coach Rodney Garner and Coach Josh Heupel. It is a blessing to have someone of Coach Heupel’s caliber even knows my name. He is a head coach recruiting me really hard.”
