4-Star DL Jamaal Jarrett's down to three, sets commitment date
Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett turns 17 next month and that is when he will announce his college commitment.
The 6-foot-5, 365-pound four-star has set his commitment date for July 19. He is down to three schools and plans to finalize his decision in the coming weeks.
“I thought I was going to commit at the end of my senior year, but I decided I wanted to go ahead and get it out of the way,” Jarrett told On3. “Auburn, Georgia, and North Carolina stand out and I will be committing to one of them on my birthday.”
The No. 159 prospect in the On3 Consensus has taken official visits to all three finalists. He had an official visit to Texas A&M scheduled for this weekend, but he has canceled that. Jarrett was planning to visit Clemson in the fall, but that is not likely now.

“All three schools make me feel like family. I had great official visits to each school. I know a lot about each program, the coaches have made me feel important, and I know each school has my back.
“My mind is not made up yet, but I know I cannot make a bad decision. All three make me feel comfortable, I have connections at each school, and it is going to be a tough decision.”
