4-star DL Trajen Odom locks in commitment date
After naming his top six schools earlier this month, Matthews (N.C.) Weddington four-star defensive lineman Trajen Odom now has his sights firmly set on his commitment.
On Thursday, Odom announced that we will make his decision public on June 28. He has narrowed his list of programs down to USC, Ohio State, Oregon, Colorado, Georgia and UCLA — though he says there are a couple currently standing above the rest.
“I’m really close. I don’t have a for sure idea, but there’s really three total out of the six that are really standing out to me. I’m really only leaning toward two of the schools. Going on visits, I thought I was for sure, but going to other schools has just made it harder for me,” Odom told On3.
UCLA, Ohio State and Oregon have already had Odom back on campus for official visits, while a trip to USC this weekend is set to round things out for the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder.

Following the USC official, Odom will sit down with his family and work to come to a decision. The recruiting process has been tough and he’s looking forward to reaching the finish line and focusing on his senior season. Finding that feeling of home is what will help Odom make his decision in the end.
“Obviously the top six have great development, great coaching and all of that stuff, but it’s just really where I feel home. I know the top two schools I’m leaning toward are going to have everything I need,” Odom said.
Odom is the No. 296 overall prospect and No. 24 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks him much higher than other recruiting services, as he checks in at No. 138 overall and is the No. 13 DL in the 2025 On300.
