4-star Dusty Stromer recaps Gonzaga visit, meeting with Overtime Elite
Four-star shooting guard Dusty Stromer has become a hot commodity on the west coast, with Gonzaga, Arizona, UCLA, and others making him a priority.
The 6-foot-6 junior out of Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame officially visited Gonzaga last weekend, Feb. 12.
“Man, it was amazing,” Stromer said to On3. “I really loved it.”
This was Stromer’s second trip to Spokane, as he also saw the Zags unofficially in November. He recapped that visit in a previous interview with On3.
“Man, that was amazing,” Stromer said. “I really loved it. I saw the Texas game and the crowd, the atmosphere in that gym was insane. The vibe and the atmosphere was unreal so I definitely had a lot of fun.”
Overtime Elite League meeting
Stromer told On3 he plans to have a meeting with the Overtime Elite league on Wednesday, Feb. 16.
The professional league was launched last year and serves as an additional option for high school athletes, allowing them to get paid while also receiving an education.
With that being said, Stromer’s meeting with the Overtime Elite league happens at an interesting time.
Travis Branham of 247Sports reported on Monday that Overtime Elite players are now allowed to participate in AAU and NCAA certified events, at the discretion of event organizers.

Now the question becomes, can OTE athletes be eligible for college, through the passing of NIL legislation.
Grassroots basketball will face a drastic shift if OTE athletes are granted college eligibility.
Stromer dicusses Arizona, UCLA
Stromer has taken an official visit to Arizona, with multiple unofficial trips to UCLA. He discussed both programs in a previous interview with On3.
Arizona: “They have a new head coach, Tommy Lloyd, I really, really like him. Their style of play, I really, really like. I think they do a really good job of pushing the pace, playing fast, and playing free which I love. They’re really fun to watch and I’m really getting along with the coaches well. They’re sort of newer in the recruitment but I’m definitely slowing getting to know them.”
UCLA: “I love the coaching staff. Me and my dad…especially my dad, he really, really gets along with the coaches and I think that’s a huge part of it, like a real relationship with the staff. I feel like we have a really good relationship. It’s close to home so my mom likes that a little bit.”
The UCLA campus is only a 20-minute drive (without traffic) for Stromer.
