Austin (Texas) Westlake four-star EDGE Colton Vasek recently took unofficial visits to Oklahoma and Texas. Following them, he decided that he is ready to make his commitment.

Vasek will be revealing his college decision on Aug. 1, he announced over social media on Sunday night. The 6-foot-5.5, 225 pound prospect is the No. 174 overall recruit and the No. 24 EDGE in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 32 player in Texas.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Sooners have the lead for Vasek’s commitment at 94.5%. He was in Norman on July 29.

The Longhorns, who Vasek visited the day before, have the next-best odds at 1.5%. During his trip to Austin, he posted a photo at Texas’ BBQ/Pool Party with New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback and Longhorns commit Arch Manning.

Vasek visited both schools officially last month, as well as Clemson, Oregon and Texas Tech.

Vasek has an On3 NIL Valuation of $17.3K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
